Sven
Gotcha-Day: 09/20/2018

Sven is a Wire-Haired Griffon & Labrador Retriever mix (aka Griffondor)

Sven is an honorable mention as he is the very dog who helped us train Katara and Aang when they joined our farm. Without his influence to show his younger ‘siblings’ how to be team players, we wouldn’t have the amazing pack we have today! Katara is a stoic guardian and Aang is an assertive peace-keeper just like our boy Sven.

Sven is now slowly going into his ‘grumpy old man’ stage of life, but is always down to roughhouse and zoom around with Katara and Aang for small spurts each day. However, instead of seeing him outside with his pack, he is more comfortable and often seen inside sprawled out on a couch.

With heavy hearts, we are sad to inform everyone that our beloved Sven has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer on August 8th, 2026, resulting in the full amputation of his left leg on August 12th, 2026. The pathology of the cancer in his leg was grim and we are unsure of how much time we have left despite the surgery. Going forward, Sven will be extra spoiled and extra pampered with plenty of hospice care to keep him comfortable until he is ready to say goodbye.
